This is what happens

Criteria
Who Two engineers from a BT Business approved and trained Service Delivery Agent will install the satellite system at your premises.

When The engineers will arrive at your premises at the agreed AM or PM slot on the specified day of installation.

What The engineers will install your satellite equipment.

 BT Business Satellite 500/1  BT Business Satellite 500/4
Location The engineer will located and agree with you the best location for the 'dish'.

Software The engineer installs the drivers for the satellite modem.

The engineer leaves the customer with BT Business software.

The engineers will not install any software not supplied by BT Business

The engineer installs NO software on your PC

The engineer will look at proxy settings on your PC.

The engineer leaves you with the BT Business software CD.

The engineers will not install any software not supplied by BT Business

Commissioning The engineers will contact the 'satellite hub facility' managed by Gilat to commission the service.

Demonstration Single PC working directly connected to the satellite router

The engineers will not get involved in any PC configuration

Single PC working with cross-over cable (if customer approves) otherwise demonstrated on the engineer's laptop
Activation The engineer accesses the BT Business 'activation page' to activate the service and start the billing process.

Literature The engineer leaves you with:

CD incorporating BT Business Connect software and browser, e-mail client, user guide (including configuration guidelines, FAQs etc)

You will already have the username and passwords from previous 'Welcome letter'

Sign-off
When the service has been activated the engineer will ask the customer to sign a 'confirmation of installation and commissioning 'form.

Post activation The customer will have the choice of whether to install the BT Business software. This is not required to enable the service, but will be required to enable your BT Business Connect internet functionality.
