BT Home Hub firmware recovery tool

Important, please read:

The BT Home Hub firmware recovery tool can be used to restore your Hub to a working condition. It should only be used under the guidance of the BT Broadband technical helpdesk.

Your Hub settings will be lost after using this tool, so unless instructed by the helpdesk, this tool should not be used to upgrade a working hub.

If you do wish to upgrade a working Hub, please note that new firmware for your BT Home Hub is automatically delivered over your broadband line overnight. So please leave your Hub switched on overnight and it will be upgraded automatically after a few days. More information on how firmware upgrades work.

Click the link below to download the firmware recovery Zip file to your computer. The Zip file includes the firmware recovery tool and the BT Home Hub firmware. If required save the Zip file to a CD or USB memory stick for transfer to your home computer.

Once you have the file on a PC that can be connected to the BT Home Hub please contact the BT Broadband Helpdesk on 0800 111 4567 who will assist you in using this to repair your Hub.

Note: Following firmware recovery, the Hub will have been reset to its default settings. Any changes previously made to the Hub firmware via the Hub manager, including, activation of BT Broadband Talk and BT FON opt-in will be lost.

To reconfigure your BT Broadband Talk settings (if applicable), browse to www.bt.com/bbt, enter your Broadband Talk number and password and follow the onscreen instructions.

To reconfigure BT FON, opt out of BT FON from the BT FON web site and immediately opt back in again. This should restart the activation process and your Hub will be opted-in after a few days. More information on BT FON activation.
